We are seeking a responsible, safety-conscious, and friendly School Van Driver to transport students to and from school, extracurricular activities, and special events. As a School Van Driver with Burrell Motor Coach Inc., you will be an essential part of ensuring that students arrive safely and on time. Transport Students Safely: Drive a passenger van to and from school, extracurricular activities, and field trips, following designated routes and schedules.
Ensure Student Safety: Ensure that students are safely secured in their seats during transport, follow safety protocols, and address any concerns related to behavior or safety during the ride.
Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the van is in good working condition. Report any mechanical issues or concerns immediately.
Adhere to Traffic Laws: Follow all traffic laws and company safety guidelines, operating the vehicle in a safe and professional manner at all times.
Monitor Students: Ensure students follow the rules, maintain proper behavior, and assist with boarding and disembarking as needed.
Provide Excellent Customer Service: Greet students and parents professionally, address questions, and provide helpful information.
Assist Special Needs Students: If required, help students with special needs board and disembark from the van, and assist with any mobility challenges.
Handle Emergencies: Be prepared to follow emergency protocols and handle any situations that arise while maintaining a calm and composed demeanor.
Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the van clean, organized, and free of hazards, ensuring it is a safe and comfortable environment for the students.
Record Keeping: Complete necessary paperwork such as attendance sheets, time sheets, and incident reports.
1.Valid Class B Driver’s License
2.Clean driving record with no violations, failure to appear or any other infractions.
3.Previous driving experience preferred, especially with passenger vehicles, buses, or vans.
4.Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
5.Strong communication skills: Ability to communicate clearly with students, parents, and school staff.
6.Dependability: Reliable and punctual, ensuring that students are transported safely and on time.
7.Physical Fitness: Ability to assist students with boarding, disembarking, and handling any special needs that may arise.
8.Flexible Schedule: Ability to work early morning, midday, and afternoon shifts based on school and event schedules.
1.Experience working with children, especially in a school transportation setting.
2.Knowledge of child safety procedures and school transportation regulations.
3.Familiarity with special needs students and experience providing assistance where necessary.
