We are looking for a dedicated and responsible School Bus Aide to assist in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during their daily bus rides. The School Bus Aide will work closely with the bus driver to maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment on the bus while helping students with boarding and exiting the bus and addressing any special needs or concerns. Monitor Student Behavior: Ensure students are following bus rules, keeping the bus orderly, and providing assistance as necessary to maintain a calm and safe environment.
Assist with Boarding and Disembarking: Help students board and exit the bus safely, especially those with special needs or younger children.
Provide Support for Special Needs Students: Assist students with physical or mobility challenges, ensuring they are comfortable and safe while riding the bus.
Ensure Safety During Transport: Monitor students during the ride, intervening when necessary to prevent disruptive or unsafe behavior.
Maintain a Positive Environment: Promote a friendly, positive atmosphere on the bus, encouraging good behavior and offering help when needed.
Assist in Emergency Situations: Follow emergency protocols and assist the driver during emergencies, ensuring the students are calm and safe.
Support Driver: Assist the driver by helping with route navigation, managing student behavior, and providing general support as needed.
Maintain Records: Complete reports on student behavior, incidents, or any other issues that may arise during the ride.
Ensure Cleanliness and Orderliness: Help keep the bus clean and organized, removing trash or other hazards that may affect the safety of students.
Communicate with Parents/Guardians: Act as a liaison between parents and the school, providing feedback on student behavior and any incidents that occur during transport.
1.Experience working with children preferred, especially in an educational or transportation setting.
2,Ability to pass a federal and state background check and drug screening. (There is no statute of limitations or timeframe of any offenses.
3.Physical Ability: Ability to assist children with boarding and disembarking from the bus, as well as the ability to lift small children or assist with mobility needs.
4.Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, and school staff
5.Patient and Compassionate: Ability to stay calm in difficult situations and demonstrate patience when working with children of various ages and needs.
6.Dependability: Must be reliable and punctual, ensuring children arrive safely at school and home each day.
1.Previous experience as a school bus aide or in a similar role.
2.Familiarity with the needs of students with disabilities or special needs.
3.Knowledge of safety procedures related to school transportation.
